Philly, Indego is on a roll.
With the launch of this city’s brand-new bike share system last month, Philadelphia’s ever-growing biking scene reached a new level of greatness.
Thousands of rides have already been taken, and the Indego bikes have immediately proven to be an easy, affordable and healthy public transportation alternative.
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Indego system includes 70 stations and serves a geographic area from the Delaware River, across the Schuylkill River, into West Philadelphia and from South Philly to North Philadelphia, including Temple University’s main campus.
Like other bike share systems, the bikes can be picked up at any Indego station and returned to any other station after you’ve reached your destination. Plus, there are multiple pricing options so riders from all walks of life can jump on a bike and take advantage of Indego. It’s a cinch.
This week, though, Indgeo and Independence Blue Cross (the bike share system’s title sponsor) make it even easier to take a ride.
On Friday, May 15, anyone can ride Indego for just $1!
In honor of National Bike To Work Day on Friday, Indego and IBC are launching the first Independence Dollar Day and offering $1 rides for any trip purchased with a credit or debit card at any station.
All “walk-up trips” will be just $1 for the first 30 minutes instead of $4. Note that trips lasting longer than 30 minutes will then be charged the normal rate of $4 per half hour. Also, Independence Dollar Days don’t work if you’re a member since rides are already included.
This Friday marks this first Independence Dollar Day, but the new monthly deal will continue on the first Tuesday of every month.
Check right here for much more information on Indego, its pricing and memberships.
Let’s ride!
